Here is a daily guide to all that Parramasala has to offer to help you plan your weekend. Many events are free, but please book early for the ticketed theatre, dance and music shows to avoid missing out.
WEDNESDAY 3 NOVEMBER
Registrations are now open to take a free class with one of India’s kathak dance masters, Pandit Chitresh Das, a featured performer in Tap Kathak.

Parramasala kicks off today with a free lunchtime concert in Church Street Mall followed by the opening of the Masala Nights street party from 4pm with MasterChef's Jimmy Seervai, and the choice of two brilliant shows at Riverside Theatres.

FRIDAY 5 NOVEMBER
The festival highlight tonight is the premiere Australian performance by Kailash Kher and Kailasa at the Crescent amphitheatre in Parramatta Park. Before the concert, the Masala Nights street market, food stalls and free entertainment takes place in Church Street Mall throughout the day.

SATURDAY 6 NOVEMBER
This morning, the regular Church Street Mall Farmers Market will be given a Parramasala twist with South Asian flavours and free entertainment. The festival highlight tonight is A Throw of Dice in Parramatta Park. The epic Indian silent film will be screened under the stars while legendary UK composer and musician Nitin Sawhney performs a new score live with orchestra.

SUNDAY 7 NOVEMBER
Take the family to Old Kings Oval to enjoy the free Parramasala Twenty20 cricket match featuring a Parramatta District Cricket Club team and an invitational South Asia XI. Then walk over to the nearby Deepavali Fair for an afternoon of colourful festivities. It’s your last chance to catch any of the four shows at Riverside Theatres and then end the night dancing to the beats of Nitin Sawhney Sound System.

MONDAY 8 NOVEMBER
Registrations are now open for limited spaces to hear Nitin Sawhney and Aref Durvesh deliver a Film Scoring Masterclass. Anandavalli gives a Dance Masterclass with her Millions Eyes collaborators, the innovative Indian musicians Anil Srinivasan and Sikkil Gurucharan. Then Sikkil and Anil will give a free talk on The Classical and the Contemporary.
